About

Sneha Alexander

painter, writer, printmaker

After studying English Language and Literature at the University of Oxford, Sneha combined her passions for art and literature in an MA in Postcolonial Studies (SOAS University of London) where she focused on queer and postcolonial interventions into the art world.

Sneha is a Barbican Young Visual Artist, and was part of It All Comes Down, a Barbican-supported online exhibition (2020). Her work Spore was commissioned for Grow Wild‘s exhibition London Grows Wild Together (2021) in partnership with Kew Gardens and a painting of hers was recently featured on Grayson’s Art Club (Series 3, Episode 6) and will be shown at the Midlands Art Centre, Birmingham (Dec 22-Apr23). Sneha is inspired by nature and is interested in the politics of people of colour in rural spaces. Her work often investigates myths, folklore, and relationships to land.
